Welcome to Vista Storm Soccer Club’s Recreational Program:

Vista Storm Soccer Club is a non-profit corporation founded in 1982 to provide boys and girls in Vista and the surrounding communities the opportunity to play organized soccer.  We’re a member of SOCAL Soccer League, the largest youth competitive soccer league in the United States. SOCAL organization is sanctioned by US Club Soccer and is affiliated with the United States Soccer (USS) and the United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA).  Our recreational program is for youths ranging in age from 4 – 19 years old.

Approximately 75% of our club players participate in our recreational program.  Assignments to our recreational teams are made using a system whose main focus is balance.  We strive to provide an environment of wholesome, competitive fun, developing good character and sportsmanship, team play, and an education in the rules and skills of soccer.

SPRING RECREATIONAL SEASON

October – January: Registration is open, Coaches are being recruited. Our spring season is 8 weeks long with one practice during the week and a game on Friday night- D5 (U10) or D4 (U12) only and/or Saturday.  D3+ is co-ed and will only play Saturday.

February: Late registration ends at the beginning of February. Teams are being rostered. Coaches pick up rosters and coaches have their internal meetings with club officials. Players are contacted.

March - May: Coaches Clinic. Uniform pickup by coaches. Practices start at the beginning of March along with games at the end of March and through until May.

Practices for Division 6 and 7: Practices will be 1 times a week, Monday - Friday, 5-8pm time frame and practice is only 1hr duration, coaches only have the option to choose days and times of their practice.

Practice’s location for Division 5, 4 and 3+ (players, parents cannot request practice days or times or coaches): Practices will be 1 times a week, Monday - Friday, 5-8pm time frame and practice is only 1.5hr duration, coaches only have the option to choose days and times of their practice.

Games for all Divisions will be played at Lake Park and could be scheduled from 8 am to 6 pm on Saturdays with some Friday evening games for division 5 and division 4 during the season.

Dates to consider for the 8-week season: Practices will start toward the beginning of March. Games begin toward the end of March.

 

FALL RECREATIONAL SEASON

April: Registration is open, Coaches are being recruited. Our fall season is 8 weeks long with two practices a week and a game on Friday nights and/or Saturday.

May: Coaches are being recruited.

June: Registration continues until the middle of June. Late registration ends in the middle of June. Teams are being formed.

July: Coaches pick up rosters, coaches have their internal meetings with club officials, Coaches Clinic at the Vista Sports Park. Players are contacted. First practice in the middle of July.

August: Soccer Fest & Picture Day in the middle of August. First games beginning the weekend after Soccer Fest & Picture Day.

September: Labor Day weekend no games.

October: Games end in the middle of October. Divisions 3 (U14), 4 (U12), and 5 (U10) will have an internal Play-Off Tournament for their final week.

Practices for Division 7: Practices will be 1 times a week, Monday - Friday, 5-8pm time frame and practice is only 1hr duration, coaches only have the option to choose days and times of their practice.

Practice’s location for Division 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 (players, parents cannot request practice days or times or coaches): Practices will be 2 times a week, Monday - Friday, 5-8pm time frame and practice is only 1.5hr duration (D6 is only 1hr), coaches only have the option to choose days and times of their practice.

Games for Divisions 7-4 will be played at Lake Park and could be scheduled from 8 am to 6 pm on Saturdays with some Friday evening games for division 5 and division 4 during the season.

Game Travel: Division 1-3 will travel since the games will be scheduled by SOCAL. All away games scheduled by SOCAL will be mostly located in the North County area, but there is no guarantee. All home games will be played at the Vista Sports Park.

Allstars: Divisions 3-6 will consist of Premier Allstar teams to play in Rec All-Star tournaments throughout San Diego County.  One Premier All Star team from each of the Divisions (3-6) will be drafted through a tryout process to represent Vista Storm Soccer Club at specified tournaments that are played from November through January. A maximum of 4 tournaments can be played.

VOLUNTEERS: As the Recreation Season rapidly approaches, there is a critical need for VOLUNTEER COACHES, ASSISTANT COACHES AND TEAM PARENTS.  A commitment of a couple of hours of practice a week and two hours each Saturday for games is all it takes. Without a coach, there is no team.

No experience, unsure of yourself; NOT TO WORRY!  We will provide you with the knowledge, tools, and techniques to be a successful coach. Each step of the season we will be there to assist you through the following:

     - US Soccer Grassroots Licensing courses prior to the start of the season.

     - Coaching clinics, provided and staffed by our own “Storm” professionals.

     - Individual assistance upon request.

El registro de la temporadad de Otono llega pronto, y hay una necesidad de entrenadores voluntarios!  Es solamente un compromiso de unas cuantas horas por semana, y dos horas los Sabados para los juegos solamente!  Recuerde, que sin entrenadores, no hay equipos!
